Mandarin Airlines (IATA: AE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Airlines Group, is a prominent Taiwanese regional carrier headquartered in Taipei's Songshan District. Founded on June 1, 1991, as a joint venture between China Airlines (67%) and the Koos Group (33%), it was established to navigate political trade barriers imposed by the People's Republic of China on Taiwan's flag carrier.
