Plus Ultra

Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas is a Spanish long-haul airline headquartered in Madrid and operating primarily from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD). Founded in 2011 by former Air Madrid executive Julio Miguel Martínez Sola, it commenced scheduled operations in August 2015 with a focus on connecting Spain to Latin America and select African destinations such as Equatorial Guinea. The airline operates an all-Airbus A330 fleet of seven aircraft, emphasizing routes to cities including Lima, Buenos Aires, Caracas, and Malabo. Known for its name derived from Spain's national motto meaning 'further beyond,' Plus Ultra positions itself as a specialist in affordable long-haul travel across the Spanish-speaking world, supplemented by ACMI wet-lease operations and codeshare agreements. Despite mixed passenger feedback on older aircraft and occasional operational challenges, it has grown steadily with fleet modernization efforts into 2026.
